Galena’s Arrival of Santa Claus Jeep Jingle Parade!

Each year, on the Saturday following Thanksgiving, Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus arrive on their sleigh in historic Galena, Illinois (reminiscent of a Hallmark holiday movie!). It’s festive… and with even more jingle, cheer, and festivities because he is being escorted with a brightly lit Holiday JEEP parade. The Galena (Civil War) Generals will lead us off… followed by our Grinch float and then the festively decorated Jeep Jingle entourage (75 in total)! (A little elf spilled the eggnog that Mr. Kringle and The Grinch will be packing gifts to award outstandingly decorated Jeeps too!). The Galena Trolley will transport children just ahead of Santa! Candy will be safely distributed to children during the parade.

Make a holiday visit for the day/weekend as Santa’s arrival heralds the town’s tree lighting! Come to historical and beautiful downtown Galena to kick-off your holiday season, enjoy the Jeep Jingle parade, and get a jumpstart on your holiday shopping at the local shops.

The parade is also a holiday fundraiser for Riverview Center to benefit families affected by Domestic Violence who may need assistance during this holiday season… and beyond. Each Jeep in the parade is asked to donate a minimum of a $25 gift card, which will be given directly to Riverview Center clients. You can also donate by providing a $25 gift card to local service, purchasing a commemorative Jeep Jingle t-shirt from one of the downtown Galena shops or make a cash donation directly to https://riverviewcenter.org/donate-2/.

Holiday Card Extravaganza

December 5, 2024. Riverview Center Dubuque Office (1789 Elm St, Dubuque, IA 52001)

This event will be in person at our Dubuque office, or folks can join via zoom. For the zoom link, or questions, email HeidiZ@riverviewcenter.org.

Join the Riverview Center team to help create holiday cards for survivors of domestic and sexual violence that we serve.

Light refreshments will be provided.

If you cannot attend in person you can still help/participate by dropping off blank holiday cards to the Dubuque office prior to 12/3.

Cocoa and Karaoke

Riverview Center and the Cedar Valley LGBTQ Coalition have partnered to bring you Cocoa and Karaoke, a festive holiday event that will allow attendees to enjoy hot cocoa, sing karaoke, and make holiday cards for survivors of sexual assault, and/or make cards for their LGBTQ loved ones.

Goodwill donation is encouraged, but not required.
